Over three decades as a governance professional, Sam has worked closely with many of Australia’s leading corporations. He is a trusted adviser to directors, executives and governance teams, specialising in board performance and enterprise governance.

Sam began his career in law, before advancing to hold senior company secretary and general counsel roles at prominent organisations including Bonlac Foods, Zinifex and BHP. He has delivered major change projects at several global organisations, and now works closely with boards and executives to enhance governance and performance, including upskilling people in writing effective board papers and policies.

At Blackhall & Pearl, Sam is our Governance Lead Partner, drawing on his proven experience as an adviser, facilitator and coach to bring out the best in our clients.

In recognition of his professional excellence, Sam received the President’s Award of the Governance Institute of Australia in 2016.
